ANOTEC® is an advanced anodising process that produces a robust aluminium oxide coating.
ANOTEC® provides very good protection against wear and corrosion, and is also suitable for use as a simple bond coat.
Coat thickness and composition
ANOTEC® is suitable for coat thicknesses ranging from 15 to 70 µm, depending on the aluminium alloy used. The recommended coat thickness is 40 µm. Half of this layer thickness ‘grows’ into the base material, resulting in an application of 20 µm.
Tolerance range
– For wrought plates: ± 5 µm
– For cast plates: ± 7 µm
– For cast and die-cast alloys: ± 10 µm
This information applies to a coat thickness of 40 µm. Tolerance range varies with larger or thinner coats.
Intrinsic colour
The colour of a component coated with ANOTEC® depends on the alloy, the coat thickness and the type of processing. The colour spectrum ranges from light grey to anthracite.
Dyeing
ANOTEC® can also be dyed black (according to VSA*210 / corresponds approximately to RAL9001). It is also possible to produce a gold-like colour (GOLD), but this is only available with special alloys.
*Colour designation of the association of Swiss anodising companies.
